TYPICAL FOOD:

The food of South Africa is the result of the presence of countries such as Portugal, The Netherlands, Malaysia, Germany, France, India and England.
The national dish is boerewors: a spicy sausage found in all food stalls around the country.
Another typical dish is the bobotie: sweet meat pie with raisins and other dried fruit, eggs baked on top. "Served with yellow rice and garnish with banana, walnuts and sour preserves of fruit and sour preserves of fruits and vegetables". Then we have the biltong: a snack of dried and salted meat. Another dish are the heads of rams. Finally there are the South Africans picarones called koeksisters: interlaced sticks of fried dough soaked in a sweet, sticky syrup.
